Prudential RideLondon hosted the Brompton World Championship Final race for the third year on Saturday 29 July 2017.
The iconic race was set around some of London’s top landmarks offering the spectators stunning views. The race covered eight laps around London’s iconic St James’ Park, past Buckingham Palace and down the Mall, making this a great setting for the event, greatly enjoyed by the locals and tourists alike.
The Brompton bicycle race participants have a dress code to follow making this event especially fun to watch. The dress code is city-chic with the typical lycra sportswear not being permitted in this event. Many cyclists sported shirts, jackets, as well as ties or bow ties. There were also some skirts and dresses. Some cyclists really went out of their way to do themselves up and put on a great show. See photos below.
Brompton Bicycle is a British manufacturer of folding bicycles. The modular design has remained fundamentally unchanged since the original patent was filed by Andrew Ritchie in 1979 with small details being refined by continual improvement.
