French police turn away a private jet passengers escaping UK lockdown

A group of 10 wealthy people of various nationalities had it all planned out. They arrived in France with a private jet, and reportedly even had ordered three helicopters to take them to their rented accommodation on the French Riviera, which landed on the tarmac while the group was questioned by the French police.

10 officers of the Aerial Transport Section of France’s National Gendarmerie and Marseille’s border police patrol who met the group notified them that they will not be allowed to enter the national territory of France and ordered them to leave. The group left four hours later.

Alas, the private jetsetters failed to reach the private villa, which they rented for three months in Cannes but this incident rendered a great story.

Marseille’s Provence Airport remains open for cargo traffic during the coronavirus lockdown in France.

Dutch backpackers buy a boat to escape from coronavirus in Australia

A Dutchman without much sailing experience made a grand plan to sail 13,000 nautical miles from Australia to the Netherlands. He bought a 47 footer Ferrocement ketch “for a good price” and found a Dutch pal via a Dutch backpacker Facebook page to join him on the voyage. The boat’s name is Samara and incidentally the pal recently met a Swiss girl whose name is also Samara for whom he has "deep feelings" – taking this as a ‘meant-to-be’ indicator!

The happy-go-lucky Dutchmen plan to do a crash course in sea sailing first, and then attempt their (supposedly) coronavirus-free voyage.

The two sailing routes to the Northern Hemisphere via the Panama Canal and via the Suez Canal, are both seasonal and vulnerable to maritime piracy.

Apparently they are happy to take on two more passengers…Do you have the balls?

Chinese students pay £20,000 for seats on private jets to escape the US

Chinese students are using private planes to return home from the US where the coronavirus pandemic has already claimed tens of thousands of lives.

It is reported that education agents and schools make contact to booking services for charter flights on behalf of the Chinese families looking to group together to arrange a private charter.

A cheap price to pay to doge the virus, if you have that sort of cash.
