The Baby Show at Earls Court

With a continuous number of women getting pregnant in our immediate circles, we’ve decided to check out the cool baby gadgets at The Baby Show at Earls Court and use this opportunity to pick out a few rockstar baby must-have items.

As I type this article with my hands massaged with Erica-Renee’s Whipped Shea Body Butter, sipping on Decaffeinated Yorkshire Tea and munching on Galaxy chocolate – a small handful of freebies received at the Earls Court Baby Show worthy of a mention, I find myself strung-up on the dilemma not being able to decide on which goodies to tell you about first.

How about we start with the wacky and the wonderful from our baby gear selection?

1. A surround sound system for your rockstar baby

Spotted on the catwalk presenting ‘Slings and Things’ was a Ritmo Audio Controller which feeds music to the baby in the womb. With this baby gadget you can teach your rockstar baby the tunes at an early age, just go easy on thrash metal and gangster rap! ;-)

2. Super cool baby nappies!

This is what we call baby gear! Itti Bitti’s cleverly designed washable nappies that adjust to many sizes has a complete internal gusset, comes with three soaker pads to customise the absorbency to suit your baby, with luxurious soft and waterproof fabric on the outside, available in many vibrant colours and striking patterns. Trendy, economical and eco-friendly!

3. Transforming furniture to suit your rockstar baby

A simple parent may not always be able to accommodate to the needs and desires of a contemporary rockstar baby and the baby’s gear demands. This is where Rokka Play comes in handy. Rokka Play’s imaginative rocking boat, which becomes a table when flipped over, or a puppet theatre when turned sideways, can also turn into a kitchen, a shop, a den or whatever the child’s imagination demands. Fitting theatre and kitchen accessories are also available. We’ve seen children go wild on it on the catwalk at the Baby Show. A rockstar toddler gave serious drama on stage refusing to get off it during the show! That was rocking!

4. Hey rockstar, keep it clean!

The Baby Show at Earls Court, London - Water Wipes

The non-irritant preservative-free 100% biodegradable baby water wipes from DermaH2O. As the DermaH2O brand representative explained to us at the Earl’s Court Baby Show, these water wipes are the only baby wipes that are safe to use from birth because they essentially consist of cotton wool and water unlike the ordinary baby wipes which have lots of chemicals and preservatives in them. Although the product is new, its can be found in 600 pharmacies across the UK. Water wipes are biodegradable, they are very convenient, they are safe, mild and pure – just a thing for the messy moments of a rockstar baby.

5. Rockstar, keep your nose clean!

Asure your rockstar baby’s nose is clean with Nasal Aspirator from Baby-Vac. With winter kicking in babies are at risk of catching the common cold. A rockstar baby should never have boogers! ‘Nough said.

6. A bit of rockstar baby attitude is allowed

ArmyKid presented baby clothing sporting slogans like 'sister 4 sale' and 'brother 4 sale' and 'new recruit', with my favourite being 'I only scream when ugly people hold me'. Good to know there still is some cheeky humour left in the world!

7. My rockstar baby loves mirrors! What do I do?

Then get your baby a mirror! Every rockstar should have a variety of mirrors. Creative and decorative acrylic shatterproof mirrors from Looking Glass come in various sizes and shapes and can make a brilliant addition to your rockstar baby’s gear collection …Go on baby give us a pout!

8. Cuddle your rockstar

Cuddledry baby apron bath towel is a towel worn around the neck, just like an apron. When you give your baby a bath, that's when it gets convenient - you scoop up your baby into the apron and give it a nice warm cuddle dry. Cute, isn't it?

9. Rockstar poolparties

Splash About displayed a good variety of funky and safe baby swimwear. Lets face it, its not much point being a drowned rockstar! So here is what our cool baby rockstar would need: A BabySnug mini wetsuit with incorporated Happy Nappy eliminating the risk of leakage into the pool, followed by a Sun Protection Floatsuit (SPF 50+) with "ABS" Adjustable Buoyancy System to suit the wearers requirements. Oh, and maybe a pair of mini goggles and a float jacket for the mother!

10. Every rockstar needs to relieve

We saw it and we fell in love with it - a vibrant green Precious Planet Froggy Friend Potty. The integrated splashguard for boys, the removable easy clean bucket and the seat handles make it very mummy-friendly!

Every baby is a rockstar, and it can really be fun kitting out a rockstar baby! And so on this note, I shall leave you and let you get busy stocking up on your cool baby gear.
