The Brazilian shoe brand Mel, a playful younger sister of the well-nurtured brand Melissa, has introduced its new collection in the UK. The Brazilian brand, is becoming increasingly popular in many countries and with the distribution company Glass Footwear representing them in the UK, sexy Mel is set to hit through the roof, so embrace yourselves!
Mel in Portuguese translates into the word 'Honey'. As it happens, the smell of the rubber my pair of Mels is made from has a very pleasantly sweet smell. I discovered this with the first sniff as I opened the packet (courtesy of Glass Footwear). Not only do these shoes feel soft, contain great detail for enhanced aesthetics but also they are scented. The word honey definitely fits this new Brazilian product Mel, and it is superb for those who want to look, feel (and smell) sexy this summer.
Taking on the same ethical stance as their sister brand, Mel believes in being Vegan-friendly, recyclable with a subtle scent and proving that fashion can be thoughtful. To sum it up, Mel is fun, fearless and environmentally friendly!
Produced by the ethically friendly company ‘Grendene’, Mel is made from sustainable sources and is 100% recyclable. More specifically, this collection is made from unique PVC known as Mel-Flex. One of the greatest qualities of Mel-Flex is that this special plastic is very flexible and soft making the shoes extremely comfortable. The Mel-Flex also allows the collection to offer a huge choice of colours and each shoe has either a patent shiny finish or the finish that bears a resemblance to the suede effect.
Mel is available in many different cute and carefree styles adorned with beautiful detail such as butterflies, bows and hearts. The collection offers a range of bright and subtle colours making Mel wearable for any occasion, suitable for all ages and many tastes.
Each shoe style has a funky name reminiscent of ingredients and key factors that go into an exotic cocktail or a lavish outdoor party. Starting with 'Ice' the style names progress onto the fruitful flavours like 'Lemon', 'Mango', spicing it up with 'Vanilla', and the list goes on... (I wonder whether they really had a summer party in mind when conceiving style names for the Mel collection?)
