Grub: Introducing the insect-eating revolution in London!

Grub’s insect-eating revolution.

Insects on the menu

If you missed the previous insect-tasting event from Eat Grub, here is their latest event in collaboration with Friendly Pensions in aid of Sport Relief, also aiming to raise awareness of insect consumption.

Friendly Pensions will be holding an interesting event this Thursday in aid of Sport Relief. As well as raising funds for Sport Relief, it is hoped that the event will also raise awareness of insect consumption as part of a healthy diet.

Insect supplier, Eat Grub Ltd, say that insects are a superb source of protein, and that people across the world eat insects for their daily protein requirements, so why not here in the UK? Consuming insects also has far less environmental impact than many other sources of protein, a message that supports Friendly Pensions socially responsible objectives.

Previously from Eat Grub:

For one week only, Grub will be taking over Monikers in Hoxton Square to serve up an insect-inspired Thai street food feast.

Grub have been working on their menu for a long time now, and in collaboration with Chang Beer, Grub are now ready to change the discerning public’s perception of entomophagy (that’s insect-eating!).

Insects are nutritious, environmentally sustainable to farm, and apparently they taste great! Be the judge of that yourself as you now have the perfect opportunity to tantalise to your palate with the new and exciting creepy-crawly flavours.

For £36.50/head guests will be served seven classic Thai style dishes with a twist, including Chang tempura grasshoppers and soy-roasted cricket miang, and, with every ticket bought, a complimentary bottle of Chang Beer or a glass of wine. Large parties are also welcome making this a superb opportunity for foodie group entertainment.
